Palm Springs, Riverside County
Palm Springs has one of the largest concentrations of mid-century modern buildings in the country, the legacy of architects such as Albert Frey and Richard Neutra who built here from the 1930s to the 1960s. A soaring gas station roof that Frey designed at the north entrance to town is now the visitor center. Each February, Modernism Week opens private homes for tours.
